I'm currently reading Tolstoy's "Confession". So far it's really depressing. Though I was told it ends hopefully. So this week's song is about depression more or less. When something happens that you consider bad or upsetting. You don't know what to do. You ask people for help..."If You Were Me What Would You Do?" . Also when you get input from others you may at first feel defensive and frustrated. But the ideas - if they are true and good - slowly gain acceptance. At least that's how it is for me. But I know everyone has different reactions to stress. But overall I'm sure everyone has asked If You Were Me? at one time or another in their life.
"If You Were Me"
I get up. Shake the night off myself.
Good luck is saying something else.
Hang tough. As much as I can.
Show me who's happy inside.
If you were me?
What would you do to make it through.
Such tragedy. Such tragedy as this.
Mince words. I can't understand.
Tough break? Had the world in my hands.
Sleep late. I was up the lonely night.
Insane. I'm not feeling alright.
If you were me?
What would you do to make it through.
Such tragedy. Such tragedy as this.
Have you been me?
In a lifetime of sense?
Such expantancy for too much to exist.
And we try as hard as we can
To figure out life's great plan.
And we live day to day.
Every moment beats, but fades away.
Call back. I don't know if I will.
Collapse into relief of my pills.
Scrapes light on the surface of the skin.
Dig deep. Who's peacful within?
Dig deep. Into the core of my soul.
Relief. Does it come with growing old?
Alright. Do the best that I can.
Searching for an answer to this toil.
