I thought I was moving down the road of a folksy singer songwriter, now it's a weird poetry performance artist. Gosh folks, I'm sorry about this weird all vocal piece (almost). It's called "We Collide". Also, I'm excited to have "Nectar Shai" on this show from my old Tampa Bay old wave band Rome in Aday. That recording is worth the price of admission to this podcast alone!

I couldn't keep cheery through all of the Spring now could I? Maybe it was the time change. Maybe it was the deadlines. It definitly was the insomnia. This week's "song" is a somewhat "experimental" piece with some introspective contridiction poem like lyrics. It's dark and interesting I think.

Oh my, it's Springtime. The birds, the bees, the pollen filled trees. Here's a nice and sweet romantic song. It's a chord progression part I've been working on for awhile. But I desparately needed inspiration to finish the lyrics.

This is a slow song. A bittersweet song I think. Are you noticing a theme in my work yet? It's called "she can't help". A song who's lyrics are describing someone. Maybe someone like someone you know., A lonely hear. The verses are speaking of her. Then the chorus does the same but tries to pull an ounce of hope into the situation. And the bridge is the narrator's please of involvement. I guess y ou could call it a ballad. But it's not a lovey dovey one. It's a tough one. Also "Starlight' by the The Inklings off the Room on Venus CD.

I suppose you either love Valentines Day or you hate it. I've had some very memorable ones and some very forgetful ones. This year was kind of inbetween.

So I got up early the Sunday before Vday and it was snowing (very lightly) here in Atlanta. Looking out the window with my acoustic and playing around with an old Rome in A Day progression I came up with this bittersweet love song.

This song is about having faith that there is Valentine out there for you but he or she is not quite there yet. Maybe you met her and haven't quite sealed the deal but you hope too. ust reading or hearing that phrase stirs up deep thoughts, right? Does it mean you're really alone physically, but spiritually you're not? Electronica? I'm not sure what you'd call this. A cool instrumental track created in Garageband. My hands did not touch any physical instrument on this one. It was all done on the laptop. So it is still valid? I think so. Definitely a different thought process for writing with loops than writing with a guitar an chords and voice. I still couldn't help make it a 3 minute song in the old pop song formula.

Alright, so it's a long title, but at least I managed to pen a somewhat decent, pretty Christmas song. Something I've been trying to do for years.

I ended up going to my childhood Christmas memories for inspiration. And more or less told the tale of one of my Christmas Eve experiences. I look back on those times fondly. I'm sure you look back on yours the same. I hope you enjoy.

AhThis one came out weird. I tried it acoustic and it sounded decent. Then I tracked tracking it and tried singing over it. (usually I play rythm and sing at the same time). Sounds weird. I'm not sure what it's about. So I used an "evil" vocal effect on a few words of the last verse. The outgoing chorus is a bit catchy though. Probably the only decent thing about this tune.
